Stills from VJ projects performed last night at the Mighty Gallery to Bitshifter's gameboy-driven audio.
All visuals were run as Processing-exported OSX applications controlled live with an M-Audio Trigger Finger. Someone buy me a Lemur so I can do this properly.
Note: Parts of this particular project were HEAVILY influenced by Toxi (Karsten Schmidt). His work puts mine to shame!

This is the control room for the 1st reactor, it was Reactor 4 that exploded. That control room is long abandoned, dark and rusted out, still full of fallout with a half life around 300+ years.

The pattern has a weak fractal form, and is made "interesting" because of the quasi-periodic loops. If we consider the way it was made, it can give us more general insight into how certain patterns come about... The picture was made by moving the camera in a fast, circular motion while aiming at street lights below my hotel window. The "rectangular" regularity of the street lights induced self-similarity amongst the loops, and the jerkiness of my motion made the loops less-than-perfect. While not technically a chaotic "strange" attractor, it depicts a low dimensional nonlinear dynamical system, so that's close enough...

Well it wasn't easy. First I had to print and make all these little signs and glue them (to the little sticks, not the squirrels). Anyhow, that wasn't so hard, it was getting these squirrels to agree to do this for non-union pay and no residuals. Now that was the hard part!

Self Disassembly
I have a robotic left arm. It malfunctions once in a while from too much computer work, so I have to take it off and service it.The hardest part is trying to reconnect all these wires with one hand.

Dr. Howard also has a nice collection of infographics on the organics industry on his site including various nuanced networks and maps. My favorite are the tree-styled timelines showing the merger relations. Kinda reminded me of a plot I’d previously seen for the media industry.All of this made my trip to the supermarket yesterday a bit surreal…

It's been quite a while since I listened to one of these.
There is no label and it was in an unmarked cassette cover, so it is a real mystery tape... It has obviously been used for something since it has a few scratches and wasn't completely rewound.
